Australian AgTech Start Up Flux Robotics Developing Precision Sprayer and Mechanical Weeder

A local AgTech start-up is revolutionizing the South Australian agriculture industry by reducing the reliance on pesticides, reports the Herald Sun.

One of the AI-powered technologies developed by Flux Robotics can help farmers find the weeds in a paddock and only spray that millimetre-accurate area, not the whole paddock. The SA agriculture industry has seen a significant shift towards sustainable practices in recent years, driven by the need to reduce the environmental impact of farming and increase efficiency.

Flux Robotics owner and founder Jordy Kitschke grew up on a farm and was inspired to make a difference. “All of our products are designed by farmers as much as anyone else. Over 50 farmers have helped with the project,” he said. “They’ve shared their tractors, fields, and ideas with us.

“I hope we can bring some new technology to farmers so they can find better ways of doing things that weren’t previously possible.”

With the expertise of a five-person team and on the back of early success of their tractor-mounted precision sprayer, Flux hopes its new mechanical weeding system will be another innovative tool for farmers.
