eAgronom Reaches 1.5 Million Hectares Milestone in Boost to Sustainable Farming
eAgronom, the agriculture-focused climate tech company helping farmers adopt sustainable practices for the health of their farms and the planet, has achieved the major milestone of onboarding 1.5 million hectares of farmland onto its farm management and carbon offsetting programs. This achievement follows a concentrated integration effort across Spain, Poland, and the Baltics in Europe, and in Kenya and Rwanda in Africa. In total, eAgronom has onboarded these hectares in 12 countries and in collaboration with over 2,500 farmers.
This milestone indicates not only rapid growth since the company’s founding in 2016 but concentrated efforts to foster long-term partnerships with farmers. These farmers are active collaborators in the field trials that enhance eAgronom’s work to develop and implement environmentally-friendly practices that simultaneously boost profits. The company is continually tailoring its offsetting and insetting efforts to make sure farmers are incentivized to adopt sustainable practices that improve soil health, reduce input costs, and expand access to better financing options.
Global and regional climate offsetting targets simply cannot be achieved without using soil-based carbon removal. Combined with sustainable lending options, eAgronom’s trustworthy and transparent credits and soil improvement measures have a direct financial benefit to farms large and small. eAgronom additionally provides tools like satellites, telematics, and soil sampling to its partner farms, who in turn report seasonal activities through the company’s software platform.
Not all carbon subsidy programs, however, are created equal. eAgronom’s flagship Carbon Program is designed to provide partner farmers with maximum transparency while helping them sequester carbon within their soil. It follows the strictest development principles and methodology as laid out by the greenhouse gas crediting program Verra, which will officially verify and register eAgronom early next year.
