U.S.: How To Transform 60,000 Irrigation Pivots Into Autonomous Growing Machines

Prospera, an Israeli ag-tech company, plans to turn 60,000 irrigation pivots in open fields into artificial intelligence (AI) autonomous growing machines that can operate 24/7, writes Jennifer Kite-Powell on Forbes.com. Through a new partnership with irrigation company Valley, the companies will collectively invest $40M to transform pivots into one of the largest autonomous crop management systems covering 9.6 million acres in three years, by 2022. In this roll-out, the companies will focus on anomaly detection in the crops.

The first one million acres will be converted by the Q2 2020 growing season in farms in Nebraska and Washington State.
