Social Solver Launches Challenge to Improve Technology and Digitize Avocado Production in Peru
Social Solver — an Engineering for Sustainable Development alliance, founded by the NGO Ayuda en Acción and the open innovation platform ennomotive — is challenging engineers around the world to digitize and monitor avocado production technology.
Social Solver was born to improve the quality of life of vulnerable communities through technology, and in 2021 has developed projects in Honduras, Mexico and Colombia.
This new challenge aims to help rural families in El Valle del Jequetepeque (Perú) where Ayuda en Acción works to strengthen and modernize their productive capacity. High-tech agriculture offers better yields and higher profitability.
Currently, avocado cultivation is carried out in small-scale family farms. Social Solver is now looking for digital solutions to increase production, profitability, quality and optimizing inputs.
