Precision Ag Firm Singrow Expands Beyond Asia to Increase Production of Climate-Agnostic Crops

Singrow, a Singapore-headquartered precision agriculture company, has announced its plans to expand across and beyond Asia and the launch of its consumer concept brand Blooom, reports Asia Food Journal. Over the next 15 months, the company will be increasing its partner farm footprint to the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Middle East, beyond its current presence in China, Indonesia, and Singapore. The expansion is expected to boost the production capabilities of climate-agnostic produce using Singrow’s patented agriculture technology five-fold.

Further, the launch of its Blooom consumer concept brand ensures that the crops grown by partner farms reach consumers who seek produce superior in flavor, better in quality, and are grown through sustainable, energy-efficient farming methods.

Singrow’s growth plans come at a time when conversations about food security are coming to the fore. Food security — defined as the state of having reliable access to safe, affordable, and nutritious food — is inextricably linked to a predictable climate and healthy ecosystems. Yet climate change has put global food production under stress in many ways. In fact, research has shown that without effective adaptation, climate change can reduce global yields by up to 30 percent by 2050. With food production needing to increase 70 percent by 2050, countries would need to tap into technological advancements to find new ways of food production as they cope with dwindling resources and finite arable land.
