BASF Launches Next-Gen xarvio CONNECT 2.0
BASF is helping farmers work smarter with the launch of xarvio® CONNECT 2.0, the next generation portable hardware device making its debut in North America. The device enables secure and seamless data exchange between xarvio FIELD MANAGER and compatible machinery terminals. It provides fast access to in-field insights, simplifies map transfer to machines and works across a wide range of terminals, optimizing crop management, saving time and enabling more-informed operational decisions.
Connecting field data to machinery
xarvio CONNECT 2.0 addresses a key challenge in modern farming: machine connectivity. The device uses a USB connection and includes an integrated SIM card linked to a secure mobile network, creating a closed chain of communication between xarvio FIELD MANAGER and machinery terminals. No smartphone or tablet is required. It is designed to operate reliably even when network coverage is intermittent, ensuring data is captured and transferred whenever connectivity becomes available.
The solution supports all popular file formats including ISOXML and Shapefile and is compatible with machines capable of implementing flat and variable rate application maps for seeding, crop protection and nutrition tasks.
Plug in and transfer application maps in just minutes
Farmers simply plug xarvio CONNECT 2.0 into the USB port of the machinery terminal in the cab. File transfer starts automatically, uploading application maps from xarvio FIELD MANAGER within minutes. Compatible with ISOBUS and CAN-bus, the device works across a broad range of machinery without complex integration. It also enables farmers to capture and review field data to support quality control and daily operations.

“Our aim is to help make agriculture in the United States more productive, profitable and sustainable with digital tools,” said Kyle King, Head of Digital Farming, North America at BASF Agricultural Solutions. “By expanding connectivity options with xarvio FIELD MANAGER and improving ease of use, farmers doing the Biggest Job on Earth can optimize crop production and make better use of existing farm machinery1. xarvio CONNECT 2.0 is a novel solution that reflects this commitment, by delivering a practical and accessible connectivity solution.”
Turning operational data into actionable farm insights
In addition to application map transfer, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 records data generated during task implementation, including harvest, moisture levels, and applied application rates. Reviewing this data in xarvio FIELD MANAGER helps farmers estimate input costs, yield and revenue in near real time, and improve operational planning while saving time spent on manual data handling.
Developed in collaboration with farmers, xarvio CONNECT 2.0 builds on the strong performance of the earlier model successfully used in Europe over the past three years. It includes new features and capabilities and was tested in North America during the 2024 and 2025 growing seasons on a range of planters, sprayers, and fertilizer spreaders from a variety of machinery manufacturers. In all tests, the device performed successfully, including on farm machinery more than 10 years old.
xarvio CONNECT also includes integrated GPS, enabling farmers to monitor machine positions, improve logistics, reduce fuel and input use, and complete field operations faster and more efficiently.
For corn growers, capturing field-level operations data through xarvio FIELD MANAGER supports xarvio BIOENERGY. This unique solution connects growers, retail agronomists and biorefineries by tracking season-long farming practices that reduce carbon intensity (CI). With independently verified results, U.S. participants using xarvio BIOENERGY may be eligible to benefit from the Clean Fuel Production Credit (Section 45Z), subject to final U.S. government guidance and implementation
