China: Spray Drones Rise to Meet ‘Intelligent Ag’ Ambitions
The agricultural and forestry drone sales market in China is expected to be worth 20 billion yuan (US$2.9 billion) by 2025, according to a forecast by iiMedia Research, writes Lea Li for the South China Morning Post.
The market size is rising rapidly, and a substantial part of the overall civilian drone market, which at last count in 2015 had reached 800 million yuan (US$119 million).
XAG, an agricultural technology company in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, was founded in 2007. It has grown to become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of agricultural drones and providers of “smart agriculture” solutions.
